China in Photos: Day No 76 In Which We Go Off-Roading

we set the Hash run today and let’s just say Chris amazed me once again with his driving prowess, tacking steep inclines and muddy hills and hair-pin turns like a pro.

I don’t want to put too many more photos here so as to maintain an element of surprise for tomorrow’s run but it was a gorgeous day to get out into the countryside.

It’s harvest time right now and along all of the roads are these massive raked expanses of corn kernels, peanuts, and other crops drying in the sun.

There are bunches of corn and rice tied up neatly in their fields and tan and wiry men wielding giant bamboo poles on their shoulders loaded down on each end with this harvest’s bounty.

We’ve made plans for a photo drive for next weekend through a few of the little towns we found today in order to really capture the harvest.  But until then, here are a few pictures from today.
